Yesterday, I made the GREAT discovery of 6140Run! in Galesburg, Illinois. A REAL shoe store, with high quality shoes. I am SO tired of buying things online which don't fit and I have to return them or live with them, and there is NO ONE, no REAL PERSON, to talk to. Here is an OLD-FASHIONED shoe store, where the people in the store are VASTLY KNOWLEDGEABLE of their product and proud of it and sell by convincing you with evidence and experience of the merits of the product, rather than giving you some canned speech. The impressive woman who waited on my knew ALL of the shoes personally, had actually tried all of them out. She even - you will NOT believe this! - put the shoes on my feet and took them off, like shoe stores used to do 50 years ago! I was SO impressed with her that I bought TWO pair of Brooks shoes from her, KNOWING they'd be right. Which they are! I JUST took a two-mile walk in them and they are awesome. Incidentally, the cost of these high quality shoes in this store is not any more than it is online. Maybe even less. AND, I felt good supporting our own merchants here in Galesburg. You do the same: go to 6140Run! to buy GREAT shoes and feel good about the experience.

I wish I would have gotten the name of whoever helped us because he was amazing and chatted with my son about running. 6140run will be our first stop anytime we are looking for shoes!

They have options for high arches and flat feet or whatever you need with an imaging matching and a knowledgeable staff. There isn't a huge selection as far as a shoe store goes but they will order what you need. Shoes have a thirty-day guarantee. With high quality products, the average cost of a pair of shoes is likely $130-$140 or so but it is worth it to have something that makes your feet, legs, and back feel better.
