I recently purchased a Lowe Skorpion SS from The Sports Center. I bought the boat here in Georgia, even though I am from Florida. Yes, Florida. The land of boats. After talking to Austin a couple of times, I knew I would purchase my boat here. He was professional, polite, knowledgeable, and above all, honest. He let me know the good and the bad. When I changed my mind on the particular Skorpion I wanted, he checked to see if he had it, and the first thing he told me about the boat was that it had black rubber marks from the packaging (which they were able to remove later). I loved that. Very rare, old-school integrity. In addition, he answered my 1001 questions, and when he didn't have an answer, he went and got it and responded quickly. Everytime! In fact, I've emailed him with questions several times since, and he's always answered. How many times have you bought something and had the salesman and the kindness disappear with the check? Not this time.

I went and picked my boat up from Mr. Tommy on Saturday, and he was just as nice. He answered all my questions, and gave me a thorough rundown on the nuances of the boat. Thanks, Mr. Tommy.

All in all, this was one of the most pleasurable buys I have ever made, and I'm 63 and like to shop. The mechanics did an outstanding job: I had a 24-volt battery system and onboard charger installed along with an extra battery, a Minn Kota 70-lb thrust trolling motor put on instead of the standard 45-lb one, and a Lowrance Reveal 7 (just the mount is showing in my pic) to replace the smaller Lowrance that came with the boat. Every bit of the work and installation was first rate.

Lastly, The Sports Center is FULL of boats. They have many different boats from many different manufacturers. I came from Florida, and the mouth of the Suwannee River and Gulf of Mexico to Perry, GA. to buy this boat, not only because of the service, but because I couldn't find a Lowe Skorpion SS in stock anywhere in my immediate vicinity. Georgia had my boat at a great price; Florida didn't have my boat.

Talked to them for over a week. Went down today which was a 3 hour drive. The people checking my trade in left at 1p. We told them we would be 3 minutes late. They couldn’t wait. Then we were told no banks were open so they couldn’t cut a deal today. Leave my boat. Ha. Even after all of this I was letting them try and run it when the finance manager treated me like an 8 year old. Never in my life have I walked into an establishment with 30k cash in hand and couldn’t close it out Worst experience ever

This store has a wide variety of fishing, hunting, grilling, and boating items. As with many other stores, the boat inventory was small because of the supply chain/worker shortages. There are still a few boats there to look at. Nice place to shop. Large open building. Stop by and give them some business.

Let me start off by saying if you live within 250 miles of Perry and don’t come here to buy your boat, you’re wasting your time. Scott and Mark made buying my first bass boat a breeze. Called in, told Scott what I wanted, filled out a credit app and within 3 hours I was putting a deposit down. Made the two and a half hour ride up this morning and while both of those guys were off, Austin jumped right in and had us out of there in a half hour. Hopefully I won’t have to buy another boat anytime soon, but if I do I know where I’m going.
