Asked for a volume perm and showed him pics of what I wanted. He didn’t say hey this isn’t the right perm to get the hairstyle in the pictures that I showed him as I did something similar in Korea. I told him I’m worried about volume but want this hairstyle, which he then just said ok. If you’re the stylist especially for a perm and, I show you what I want then it’s literally your job to advise before I start

After the hair turned out horribly he blamed me saying that I choose the wrong perm and that I should have chosen the more expensive volume magic which is 350. Even nyc doesn’t charge 350$... I asked him to keep the hair a bit long as well and he over cut it before doing the perm as well. The sides aren’t even blended in. I don’t usually critique this hard but if I’m paying 150$, this is absolutely amateur hour and horrifying

This is my 3rd or 4th cut with Annie now and she never misses! She always delivers exactly what I ask for in reference pictures. She takes great care in the shape and density of the cut, and I can tell she is very skilled. I never cared enough to consistently go to the same salon before this, but Annie’s service at Park Jun is really worth the price!

Also, my hair was quite dry and the person washing my hair gave me a treatment free of charge. Salon is clean, bright, and tidy with a seating area. I also had no trouble communicating unlike what some reviews say. Much thanks to the team!

If I could give 0 star I would. Middle age lady with dyed blondish bob worked on my hair - I left in a hurry and forgot to ask for her name. There was some language barrier but I would think if she's a professional, a photo would suffice. I showed her a photo of a simple shoulder length bob, longer in the front with beach waves. Obviously the waves are styled (I have typical straight Asian hair) so she should've cut my hair to a bob, get my approval prior to styling with a curling iron.
(1) she literally RAZORED my hair off in chunks while it was wet. She never once used a cutting scissors. Took her about 10 mins.
(2) brush fell onto the floor, she picked it up and went back to combing my hair with it.
(3) she dried my hair and then instantly started curling. Didn't bother to clean up the strays, measure the sides or back. Didn't let me see or ask if I'm satisfied with the bob as that's the look I'm going to be stuck with as I wouldn't be styling it daily!? Literally curled just a few sections of just the top layer of my head so I had chunks of hair sticking out in the back and sides underneath the curls.
(4) when I told her it's not what I wanted and showed her the photo again, she rudely insisted it's fine and blamed the style I requested. She was getting super agitated rolling her eyes and then proceeded to grab the chunk that I pointed out and RAZORED it off! Again not seeing if it's symmetrical or if it's at least even.
(5) a 20 mins razored haircut cost me $55 and she had the audacity to ask HOW MUCH to put on my CC for a tip!!? Already assuming I'm giving a tip and somehow oblivious to how dissatisfied I was. I didn't stay to let her destroy the hair I had left.
After I had washed my hair at home and seen the absolute horror of what she's done I ended up having to pay for another hair cut elsewhere the following week. I had random strands and uneven chunks from back to front. She already cut it too short trying to correct it that it didn't leave me much room to cut more. My stylist was flabbergasted and asked if I let a 5 year old give me a haircut.
Also, from my experience, if you don't speak Korean I would be hesitant in going to this salon. The rest of the staff either ignored me or was really curt and unsmiling when speaking to me even though I had an appointment.

✨ Judy is nothing short of amazing ! she puts so much artistry and care into my haircut & style ; far exceeded my expectations. I brought some pictures to show her, and explained how I’d like to have volume reduced all around.

Judy was extremely friendly and pleasant; I did not feel any sort of hostility - and I am not of Korean-descent. I did not encounter any issues as other reviewers have stated. My colorist is also Korean, super talented, and the most humble human being I’ve ever met. She’s in Lincoln Park if you need a referral. My hair had never looked so good w/ balayage & any color job in general ✨

The entire process was very calming + I absolutely love my hair ?

She is a PERFECTIONIST ? & took the time + care into shaping my Asian fro of a head. Asked for her information on a business card before I left *feeling chic as ever*. So happy to have a new stylist I can count on ✨

Got a setting perm here and satisfied with the results. However, one problem is that some parts of my hair in the back did not curl and remained straight. Also, I asked for light layering but the stylist layered a lot of my hair off but it was not too bad at the end. Service was good and staff were friendly. Mostly Korean speaking and adequate at English.

We visited this salon today to get a perm for my 14-year-old son. Upon arrival, they asked us to wait until the master finished with his client. So, we found a corner with a couch to sit on. After about 3-5 minutes, the person at the reception desk took my son to wash his hair. I waited for him for about 5-10 minutes and then decided to check on him. I couldn't see from the other side of the salon/corner that master already started cutting his hair. To my surprise, the sides of his hair were already done.
I tried to communicate with the master(who appeared to be about 35-40 years old), explaining that my son swims for about two hours almost every day. However, understanding his Korean accent was quite challenging. In the end, I gathered that the perm would last only one month, which was unexpected for me since I had never done a perm before.
I asked my son how things were going, and he showed me the same picture he had shown to the master—a smooth transition from the sides to the top, rather than having the sides too short and the top too long. Unfortunately, it was too late to make this adjustment, as the master had already cut the sides too short. I informed my son that it was too late to achieve the smooth transition he desired, as altering the top would make it shorter than he wanted.
After we were finished, it was time to pay. The master told me that the perm cost $100, and the product for the perm hair we purchased was an additional $20. I didn't immediately understand what he said, so I handed him my card. Then, he asked about the tip, which caught me off guard. His accent and demanding attitude made me uncomfortable, so I unexpectedly said, 'You can take $10 for the tip.'
Perhaps if he had used a machine for the transaction or provided options for the tip amount (e.g., 15%, 18%, or 20%), I would have chosen the tip amount myself. In any case, it was clear that he was not pleased with this amount and began pressuring me to give more, insisting that tips should be at least 20%. He even wrote this down and showed it to me.
I apologized and explained that I could only afford $10, considering that the perm would last only one month, and I had already spent $120 in total. Despite my explanation, he became increasingly angry, demanding a 20% tip. I apologized once again, expressing my understanding but emphasizing that $10 was all I could give. His response was, 'Don't come back here!' He raised his voice, almost throwing my card back at me, which left me shocked. He also yelled 'GO AWAY!' and stepped away.
Throughout the visit, the master didn't greet us or show any politeness. His behavior was consistently rude. I questioned why I should pay a 20% tip, especially considering the service wasn't great. He seemed indifferent to the fact that I was pregnant and had my child with me, raising his voice without consideration for other clients. I couldn't help but wonder how the situation would have unfolded if I didn't have enough money to pay 20% tips even if the service was great. It was the worst experience for me…
