Have been going to Read's for more than 20 years. Great local sports shop. The guys are knowledgeable and carry a great selection of quality sports equipment. Particularly great for baseball/softball. Have been pleasantly surprised with the customer service numerous times.

I have got to take a moment to call out Reads Sporting Good store.

I went by yesterday hoping they’d have an extra pair of the baseball pants they ordered for Jack’s (my son) team and they didn’t have his size.

Most folks probably would have shrugged and said too bad… not Reads. I had the pants with me because I wanted to show him what I was looking for (not that he needed it. He knew exactly what team I was talking about as soon as he saw my Hawks hat). So, he said let me try something… and he patched the hole, asking for nothing in return. He used his resources and his equipment and his time — but didn’t ask for anything.

Also, whilst we waited for the thingy he used to patch the pants to heat up, he showed me a really cool game he invented and we played— it requires some level of hand-eye coordination so, of course, I lost.

They also had size 12 turf shoes, which I couldn’t find anywhere else.

So all in all— just a wonderful experience.

Stopped in here after reading about the most recent robbery to support a hometown staple for a lot of us growing up, and then with our own kids. Everyone was still, amazingly, in good spirits! Brian at reads is without a doubt the most accommodating Sports Equipment store operator in the twin cities in my opinion. I had took my son into Reads to look at Bats. He seen the one he wanted. The guy (im sorry didnt get name) he was very helpful and was talking to my son about what kind of bat he wanted and what he was looking out of a Bat. After we looked at the bats my son found one. The guy offer to put on a new grip tape that my son wanted. When he came back he had notice that the bat wouldnt meet requirement for high school ball. He said i cant sell you this bat it dont have the requirements that you need. So they my son noticed the other the one he wanted. . So my Son walked out of the store one HAPPY KID. Thank you Reads. Ill diff. Recommend you.
