Purchased the "Medium Tin Candle Lantern". It's advertised as a candle lantern but when you light the candle the entire thing turns into an oven and the candle is a pile of goo on the bottom in 20m. I thought it was just me doing something wrong. I emailed for help/ clarification & was told this is normal. I asked for store credit on the item and I was told I could get 50% refund because it was used. The add does not tell me this is a decoration piece or I wouldn't care. When I asked for the full amount they said I would get it but blocked from buying anything from store again! The lantern is $90 or I wouldn't care. Really disappointed jeez... I have been buying from them for years and I won't be back with or without black list.

Not only do I love the show but last summer they hadn't had many guests from COVID. We were told we were one of the few that had visited at that particular time. They were the absolute kindest people that I had the honor of meeting. The persona they have on YouTube is exactly what you get. Real, kind and happy to share their wealth of knowledge!

Awesome little shop! I stopped in because I found their incredible YouTube channel last week and realized they were right near us! Definitely wanted to support this amazing company so I bought a coffee mug! Their YouTube channel is a national treasure! I cannot recommend it enough!

Bought from there website, purchased the Horn Spoon, after several uses it started to chip, and bubble, it actually cut my lip. I contacted them via email, sent pictures. They advised me that it was past the return date and they couldn’t help me even though I spent a lot of money with other items. It’s a $6 spoon. I advised them I would gladly return the damaged spoon. Lauren from customer service said she would then send me a new spoon which was never sent. It’s so disappointing for a $6 spoon. I have always supported there YouTube channel and try to buy something from there online store to support them but I will no longer support them if they can’t replace a $6 spoon. Very disappointing. Buyer beware

I love the detail on the Revolutionary War Coat and fit amazing definitely worth the price yes it’s on the pricey side but your definitely getting the moneys worth thank you Angelina and everyone that works there for helping me out.

I ordered numerous items online for my husband for Christmas and everything was wonderful. I received everything quickly and the quality is amazing. The staff was wonderful and communicative through the entire process. I will continue to support this business and hope to be able to go to the physical location sometime soon. My husband loves the shows, as do I.

I would give 6 stars if I could!

I have watched the YouTube channel for many years and thoroughly enjoyed their content. When I started working for a museum that wanted to offer historic tours of the property, I knew exactly who to turn to. Every item I purchased to complete my late 18th/early 19th century outfit is of remarkable quality - and looks like it came right out of one of the museum's display cases! Besides that, the clothes fit perfectly, the accessories feel nice in the hand, and you can easily tell that a lot of time and attention to detail has gone into creating - no, curating - an incredible line of historic reenactment products. If that is not enough to convince you that Townsends is the premier store for these items, then I must say that the customer service was exceptional and the shipping was so fast you'd think it was coming from the 23rd century and not the 18th!

I ordered a civilian tricorn hat and it was absolutely perfect! Since then I've ordered a great coat, shirts, breeches, trousers, short jackets, hunters frock and so much more and I am delighted with everything I've gotten! Wonderful customer service and outstanding quality! I'm also addicted to their YouTube show!
