Joshua was a great guide for our kayak and snorkel tour to the Captain Cook monument! This was a very cool experience and a great spot to snorkel! Very worthwhile. It’s a great spot to see lots of fish and we even saw a turtle which Joshua said was not common for that spot! The water is very clear!

I do think helps to how to kayak and be prepared for a potentially strenuous journey. It doesn’t take long but especially after snorkeling/swimming for an hour, the trip back was hard!

They provide life jackets and you can wear it while snorkeling. My husband did because that makes him feel more comfortable in the water.

We had a Kayak and Snorkel trip guided by Joshua. The trip was amazing. We were with two other couples using the tandem kayaks. the trip across Kealakekua bay to to the Captain Cook monument was very smooth. The spot is a great snorkeling spot. We saw some sea turtles and so many colorful fish around the the coral reef. There was a pod of spinner dolphins that went right past us on the return trip. What a great experience. I would definitely recommend them Joshua for your kayak adventure.

Our Kayak and Snorkel trip guided by Joshua was incredible. There were 3 couples utilizing 3 tandem kayaks. Joshua helped us all to safely transfer to the kayaks during low tide and guided us across Kealakekua bay to to a great snorkeling spot. We saw so many fish of varying colors and the coral reef was beautiful. On the trip back we had spinner dolphins go right past us so closely that we got a great video. What a great laid back and fun experience. I would highly recommend them and suggest you ask for Joshua.

Josh was a gracious, kind, knowledgeable, professional, and conscientious tour guide! It was great to learn interesting facts about Kona's history and the various fish we saw. The tour was very streamlined, and I highly recommend it. Kayaking to the Captain Cook Monument snorkeling area is much safer for the local reef and it's longevity than boating to the area. Remember to use mineral sun screen rather than chemical sunscreen for reef health.

Overall this tour did a fabulous job! The tour guides were very knowledgeable and you can tell they love their job and culture! The kayaking was a great work out and the snorkeling was an incredible reward! The guides did yell at us when we accidentally kayaked on the reefs. I wish they warned us sooner that we were too close because we had no way of knowing until we were right on top of it. Also bring water shoes!!! It is a must. Luckily I had a pair in my bag but my confirmation email did not mention anything about them. Overall I would go through this company again!:)

I cannot review the actual kayak and snorkel experience as we did not get to go. We were booked for the afternoon kayak (11am report time) and received a text and email at 9pm the night before that we couldn't kayak due to swell and were rebooked on a boat to snorkel tour with a 7:30am report time the next morning. That's my first complaint: if you're changing someone's report time with less than 12 hours notice, a phone call is in order.

I didn't see the text until the next morning, thankfully I'm an early riser, so I had to drag the rest of the family out of bed much earlier than anticipated, but we all really wanted to snorkel Captain Cook. It wasn't until we arrived at the meeting point that we were informed the tour wasn't going to Captain Cook but to an alternate site. This, too, should have been communicated beforehand. If you already had to message me the night before to change my report time and location, you can certainly tell me that the snorkeling location is changed. Of course, then we would have just cancelled so I'm assuming they were being willfully misleading.

The alternate snorkel location was mediocre at best. It definitely wasn't worth the early wake up. I only realized after the fact that the alternate snorkel wasn't even run by this company but that they had pawned us off on a different tour group. I emailed both groups about my experience and the lack of communication, as I feel that booking a Kayak/Snorkel to Captain Cook and getting neither to Kayak nor to see Captain Cook is a completely unacceptable replacement. As I stated in my email, I'm not faulting them for weather conditions but for the way they handled communication and rescheduling in light of those conditions. If you run a weather dependent activity, you need better back up plans than this. It's been a couple of weeks and I have not received a response to my email.

Our family of four had a fantastic experience!! Very highly recommend this trip! Our guide, Joshua, was exceptional - he was very engaging, friendly, informative, knowledgeable, and patient. He provided plenty of interesting information about the area and answered all our questions. He was helpful with kayaking technique and adjusting our snorkeling equipment. Kealakekua Bay was incredible for snorkeling - water was clear, lots and lots of beautiful fish and dolphins. Our best snorkeling experience by far!

We did a morning kayak and snorkel to Captain Cook and it was one of our favorite experiences on the island. JC was an awesome guide and was very knowledgeable on the wildlife, area, and culture. Go on the morning tour to get there before the rest of the boats. We even saw dolphins on the kayak over!
