Dana and Eric took over from David to keep the Alta Sierra Wine Shop (ASWS) open for the enjoyment of their community.

This shop most focuses on < $20 per bottle wine, but some wine ,where higher prices are justified, are more expensive. What truly sets this shop apart is the experience of the proprietors. Life long wine lovers both Dana and Eric bring a wealth of knowledge to ASWS’s customers. Sign up for a tasting event or stop by for a private tasting. If it’s not too busy take a sit at the bar and chat with your host. Explore wines from all over the West Coast, Europe and other locations.

Sharing the Alta Sierra Business Plaza with Dana at Alta Sierra Wine Shop is a beautiful merriment of personal pleasure and business collaboration. Our community is lucky to have a sweet local watering hole with a very knowledgeable, welcoming sommelier.

I highly recommend popping in for a lovely variety of wines, as well as brewskies for those who prefer hops.

Fantastic selection of California wines with the best prices I've seen in the area for the quality and the most friendly host. As a broker, of course Dave has extensive knowledge of wines but he knows most of the winemakers he represents in his shop. His tastings are delightful, fun and full of stories. He is the soul of the shop!

Great selection of wines, owner Dave Luce is a wealth of wine knowledge and a fun, charming host. This the friendly corner wine tasting bar that you think is only in the movies - but it's right in our own neighborhood. We live in Penn Valley and make it to Alta Sierra Wine Shop as often as possible!

I hate to give this a wonderful review for fear it will become too popular. But it truly deserves the five stars for selection, service, information and prices. If you go to one tasting room slash wine bar, it should be this one.
