Had an amazing experience at Big Island Running! My girlfriend and I originally came in for directions but started chatting with Amber and left with some shoes!

I had been wearing a pair of old Under Armor sneakers (that were long overdue for an upgrade) and had always struggled finding the right pair for my feet since I overpronate & never could get someone to put me in a good pair. Amber was very knowledgeable and found me a pair of Brooks Beast 20 shoes (in my size + wide)! Already putting a few miles on them and walking & running is a joy again!

Thank you Big Island Running (and Amber)! Will be coming back the next time we grab a bite at Island Lava Java (you definitely have to go there too)!

Top notch service from a classic speciality running store!

You’re coming here for expert advice, quality activewear and running accessories. We needed some last minute gear for Honolulu Marathon and they got it.

As with all businesses on the island there is a little lucky dip with sizes (apparently during pandemic women’s 8.5 outsold long time leader - and my personal size - 9.5). It is also a TEENY storefront and things could take a little longer than a big box store.

But you can always count on walking out with an informed purchase at this local business. Mahalo x

If you are in Kona and in need of running shoes this is the BEST place to go. I was in this shop in 2019 and John gave me incredible advice on the shoes I needed. Came back here this week and once again he spent an incredible amount of time with us giving the BEST advice. Great variety and reasonably priced merchandise. And it’s so cool to bring “Run Aloha” items home for friends.

?‍♂️ Stumbled upon Big Island Running Company and boy, do they take "running" seriously! The service was so professional, I thought I was getting a marathon pep talk. And the store? It's like a running shoes museum – just without the "do not touch" signs. If you're a running fanatic or just really, really love shoes, this place will have you sprinting with joy!

Highly recommend this company for everyone, not just runners! I was having really bad pain in my feet because of standing on concrete floors all day at work. I called the store to see if they carried a specific brand I was told about by coworkers and asked if I could have them ordered. The owner suggested I come in and have him properly fit me and to figure out the cause of the pain. He spent almost a half hour watching me walk and figuring out my arch needs. He is extremely knowledgeable and got me into exactly what I needed. And the pair cost $50 less than the ones I originally planned to order. I was so glad I went in, I was immediately I was pain free. Just bought my second pair and they have your previous purchases on file so it’s easy to get the style number you had. Wonderful customer service and I love supporting local whenever possible!!
