I’ve only had good experiences at Dainty Maid. I love the food hall setup with different restaurant options. The online ordering system is very convenient.

Best of all, the food is fantastic. There are so many unique options that I’ve never seen anywhere else. My favorites are the latkes and the savory Dutch baby (pictured). The coffee is excellent as well (pictured: black stag). The quality is absolutely worth the price.

My husband and I are making a tradition of getting Dainty Maid brunch every time we’re in town, so I’ll definitely be back!

I ordered the Fried Chicken Caesar Croissant from The Breakfast Club and it was absolutely delicious! The hall is quite busy at peak hours and the service is a bit hit or miss. Despite our table all placing our orders at the same time, the food came out sporadically and we had to check with staff multiple times. In short, delicious food, lacking service.

I had a burger, and I had the bloody marry flight. The bloody marry flight was fantastic. The burger was great. The coffee shop had already gone home for the day before I got there... so next time, I'll try to get there early enough to try the coffee.

Uber Eats/Grub Hub in a Building :
Visiting from Miami trying out the Dainty Maid

Pros
- Coffee was honestly the only reason I gave this place a star because it was very elevated with great flavors. Best matcha I’ve had. I would only go back for the coffee.

- Variety. lots of variety and options to choose from.

Cons
- QR menus and online ordering. Basically like grub hub but you sit down and they bring you the food. I see why older generations would have a hard time but even as part of the young generation this was so annoying. At least in grub hub I can make modifications with a special comments section to a certain plate but at this place modifications are much harder to make and totally eliminates the face to face interactions that are made. I really hated that aspect because I can just grub hub or Uber eats food somewhere else and it would be literally the same. They swear it’s a “new concept” idea but it’s grub hub in a building.

- tipping. Since you pay for everything first, like on Uber eats or grub hub, you pay for 25% tip before they even serve you. Also as someone who as worked in the food service this is an insult to me because all they do is bring you the food and that’s the “service” you tip for, whereas other places are working their hardest to bring the best service.

- food - some of the dishes were pretty good but for the price most of the food was quite average and just tasted like something I would get off a food truck or at a normal breakfast place. The quality of the food wasn’t really anything amazing.

Honestly do not recommend. Especially if your going with family from different generations.

If you are in South Bend, Indiana… it is a must to stop in to check-out the Dainty Maid Food Hall!!!

We had a party of nine, and they were very accommodating. Some people in our group wanted breakfast and some wanted lunch and this was a great place to go.

The food was exceptional with many different options to choose from!! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was inviting.

There was flexibility on ordering. You can order from your table using the QR code or by walking up to the counter and placing your order. It is definitely a place to check out!! LOVED IT! ❤️

Really nice spot. Our smashburgers were top notch. All the food I saw coming out looked amazing. We will be back. They don't take any payment in person. Order and pay on your phone.

Most of the food is fantastic. There's literally no service. You order your food from an app and somebody brings it to you and you pay on the app but nobody really checks on you and your dishes can sit for a long time. The biggest concern though is they used to have a mold problem by the door and I let them know a few months ago. Today I went back and you can smell the mold all the way back by the kitchen. It's seriously strong and even the water is slightly off tasting. The city should really look into this. It's black mold. There's no mistaking that smell. They don't seem to care.
