Horrible experience shopping while Black. I am a Chattanooga native and avid world traveler. I stopped in to gather a few items for upcoming hiking, camping, and kayaking adventures while checking the status of this season's outerwear.

My sister and I were in the store for nearly 15 minutes before we were greeted. Although others who did not look like us were given the royal treatment. I was only approached when I began to handle clothing items near the entrance. Although the woman a saleswoman was helpful , the two males salemen were very clear that they did not want my business.

One clearly over charged me by over $120 , tacking on fees for a program that I did not request, and charging full price after pretending he did not see a mark down tag when we witnessed him verbally acknowledge that the discount did not go through although it was marked. He then turned the transaction over to an salesman who tried to insult my intelligence and math skills by discounting the least expensive item and trying to distract me and chat me out the store without my receipt.

Yes, I would like my receipt. I reviewed it immediately and saw the mistake. So this was not once, but twice, they tried to over charge me.

I'd recommend everyone especially those who are Black to check your receipts because I don't doubt this was an accident or the first time. They seem to be overcharging and tacking on hidden charges. IYKYK.

I asked for a total refund and left. I refuse to give my business to an establishment that treats customers in this manner.

And that is unfortunate, because there is not Patagonia in Atlanta so you would have received an abundance of business from me and those who vibe my tribe.

And yes I do believe it was race related, but please understand, White people of the North Shore with your racist privilege behavior...I was born and raised in Chattanooga and deserve to be there just as much as you. I could care less about your gentrification. I am so disappointed by the level of racism I saw at Patagonia and on the North Shore....

Do better Patagonia.... don't let this be the culture of the North Shore

My wife and I were in Chattanooga for the Still Hollow trail race today and decided to stop by Rock/Creek to check out their gear and try some new running shoes. The store is fantastic and their staff(Grant, David, and Paige) were all super helpful and very knowledgeable. Without a doubt the best experience we have ever had at an Outdoor store!

Great selection of Hoka from sandal(ish) to hiking boot(ish). Their sales associates were very polite. In particular Chris was fantastic. He was knowledgeable on every shoe & managed good conversation with me and his other customers simultaneously. Quality skills. I will be back.

I try to buy my gear from local shops, gear reps and manufacturers who I know. Sometimes I pay more. Rock Creek is somewhere in between REI and buying from Yates. I still have a R/C sticker on my truck. And free stickers. So...
