Docs are good, but it's awful there. Spent 20 minutes driving around looking for parking and giving up because 8 others were driving around doing the same because they're apparently over booked. If you can live with the pain and you're not dying, save yourself the effort and time

The level of attention being provided regarding phone call returns, prescription refill requests, lab result reports, etc. has fallen below acceptable levels. I'm not certain why, but these forms of patient care/communication is every bit as important as all of the rest.
Before expanding and taking on more, focus on doing the basics properly.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Two recent issues with GRMC: last year, we had a physical appt that we were billed a copay for. Our insurance pays fully for physicals so I was confused. I called the hospital SO many times and talked to SO many different people. No one could tell me what the reason was & no one would call me back. One girl mentioned that “it might be because you talked about something that doesn’t fit in the boxes they check for a physical, like reflux.” I was floored. No way could it be something so greedy, right? So I finally called the insurance company to see what I was charged for. Yep, something happened within the appt that was outside the parameters of a “physical appt” SO THEY CHARGED US FOR TWO APPOINTMENTS!!
Second problem: I went into urgent care for an ear infection. I guess I talked too much and told the dr that I had PREVIOUSLY had a gum infection & didn’t know if it had traveled to my ear or if this was something entirely separate. I paid my copay. I received a bill for the entire appt, minus the copay. Insurance paid nothing. Since I had already learned NOT to call & ask anyone at the hospital what the issue was, I called my insurance company to find out. They coded it as dental. My insurance doesn’t cover dental. The insurance company called the hospital for me & told me they would call me to talk about it. I laughed. I told him “GRMC doesn’t care about people. I’m just a business transaction. They won’t call, they’ll just send another bill.” And that’s exactly what they did. So I called them. Repeatedly. One person was RUDE, initially, telling me I didn’t come in for an ear infection. She argued with me until she finally, smugly said, “ok, here’s the drs notes!” And she read them out loud. She trailed off and changed her attitude as she read, “pain in the ear…” I even emailed the dr & got no response. They “turned it into quality” and I kept calling to see what they decided. I was finally told, “they haven’t gotten back to me yet but no matter what they decide, you’ll still have to pay it.” This started April 30, 2024. I’m still waiting for a response on July 19, 2024. I know they’re just waiting for me to give in or turn it into collection & ruin my credit. I have excellent credit so I’m not going to let them take that too. It’s NOT health care. It’s GREED!

Lady doing immunizations this morning was an absolute joke!!!! My young son needed his immunizations updated and he got scared of needle. As his dad and I were trying to calm him down, she was making matters worse and she was very stressed. Kids feed off your energy lady!!!!!!!! Worst experience ever because she clearly doesn't have patience or kid skills!!!

If I could give zero stars I would! Hospital is a joke! I called to ask if I could talk to a nurse about my daughter who was born there and seen not even a year ago to see if I could give her artificial eye drops but I was told by the receptionist that we can’t give you any care information over the phone. I called Corning hospital and they said instantly yes you can. This hospital needs a CHANGE! Corning will be our hospital we go to from now on!

My nephew came in to ER writhing in pain. Stiff neck, doubled over and the doctor told him that he would not help if he didn't sit up and cooperate. We left and went to Osceola where he was air lifted to Des Moines, Mercy with symptoms of Meningitis. Terrible staff. Terrible service. Will never go here again.
