Absolutely horrible experience, do not waste your time or money on this shop. On Saturday 6/15/24 my daughter and I decided to walk the loop and spend the remaining balance on her Hallelu gift card I got her for Christmas. I love supporting local businesses and thought this shop looked cute. We went to check out and the staff could not get her gift card to work. My daughter bought a dress in March 2024 off the clearance rack and had a remaining balance of $113.62 on card. The staff contacted the owner, Tara, who stated that they had changed sale systems and she would have to research the issue but she was not near her computer at that moment. I contacted her later in the week and Tara advised she would need original receipt from purchase. Luckily, I found the receipt and sent staff a picture. Tara then sent a text at 8:44pm on 6/20/24 advising she would issue a credit of $113.62 towards our next purchase. On 6/22/24 she sent another text saying the purchase was actually $113.62. Tara stated she would let the girls (her staff) know “if” I came in that we had a credit of $36.38. I texted back that my daughter had purchased a shirt (which was actually a dress I was not with my daughter then but she clarified it later when I talked to her). I then called and she said she needed the other receipt, which my daughter did not save. (I know lesson learned.) The owner Tara was incredibly rude and condescending throughout the entire process. She took no ownership regarding her sale system changing and not having the ability to even read a gift card we purchased less than a year ago. The staff working that Saturday also lacked any customer service skills. We loved a dress they had in the store but only had medium and large size. My daughter found a small on the Hallelu website and advised staff she was going to just order it there. They quickly told her that the website was wrong due to inventory not being updated often. Then when the gift card could not be read due to the new system, they did not apologize or anything. The one young lady actually turned to the other sales associate and began carrying on her personal conversation after getting off the phone with Tara. To save my sanity from trying to speak with a business owner that lacks customer service skills and integrity, I decided to write the BBB and let them handle it. If nothing comes from it then I am tossing my hands up because obviously this lady and her family must need that $113.62 more than my seventeen year old daughter. I would also suggest everyone shop the local boutiques at Mayfair and surrounding areas over supporting this business. At the least, don’t get a gift card. Pictures of receipt, “$113.62” dress of the clearance rack, and text message from owner Tara are attached.
