Smiley is awesome! He does amazing work. I’m going to him for all my tattoos. He is clean and professional. The shop is clean and Liberty and Dana were super nice to me when I was there. Everyone talked and joked around and made the whole experience enjoyable.

Had wanted to get a flash-style tattoo with my friend that Liberty had posted. Made sure to check with the shop that they would be open for walk-ins for this Wednesday and planned my trip accordingly. Once we arrived and filled out the paperwork, Smiley showed us to the back room where we could wait for Liberty to come back from break, no issue at all since it was a walk in and figured there would be a wait to begin with. Once Liberty was back and ready, Dana asked us to identify which of the flash tattoos we had wanted, I had explained that if possible, I would like mine to be a bit bigger, and was fine with paying the extra money if need be as it was an adjustment to the flash that was originally posted. My friend had inquired if the image could be mirrored to be facing the opposite direction. Dana was not sure if Liberty still had the image saved on her iPad and would check with her to see if it was an option. She came back and informed us that Liberty no longer had the original photo that the images were printed from (even though it was a tracing from a stock image) and that they would not be able to be changed. We asked for a few moments to discuss this. While my friend and I were discussing it, we overheard Liberty speaking rudely about us, along the lines of “get your $40 flash or get out,” among other things, which although not spoken directly to us, we received the message loud and clear. We decided to leave and take our business elsewhere, back to my regular tattoo shop where we were treated with respect and understanding and who even matched the $40 price we were quoted, even though their shop minimum is typically $120, and even though I never once expected them to even come close to the $40, let alone match it and had told them I was fine with the shop minimum price. I understand that these were flash style tattoos, and that the intention is essentially, you get what you get, but given the fact that we both acknowledged we were willing to pay more for the changes, and only wanted minor things changed that any artist is capable of changing, the entire situation was completely unprofessional.

This is not to say that all artists at this shop behave in the same manner. I have been to Caitlin for permanent cosmetics twice now, and have absolutely loved her and her work both times. She is exceptional at her job and makes each of her clients completely comfortable with their experience and is a wonderful artist to work with.I always recommend her to anyone who ever compliments my permanent cosmetics or any time it’s brought up. I truly look forward to my touch up appointment with her when the time becomes necessary.

I truly wanted to give Liberty a chance as I know she is a newer artist but given her unprofessional behavior over minor changes on a tattoo, Caitlin will be the only artist receiving my business in the future.

Great overall experience. I found the shop to be clean and professional without being lame. There is an energy that is creative and lively without crossing over to chaotic.
My artist was Heidi Rago. She is talented and creative. From my initial consultation, all the way to the completion of my 6+ hour piece, I have found her to be delightful. Heidi has an incredible work ethic and cares.
I highly recommend this shop and Heidi as an artist.

Every Artist SMILEY who did mine , to the owner Jeff, Heidi, and Liberty are all great. They are all professional, friendly, clean, and personable. They make you comfortable and welcomed at all times and make their art come to life on you. I will be going back numerous more times. Prices are reasonable, and it's always a good time

I live in a suburb of Chicago. I happen to be scrolling on social media and saw some of Heidi's work on one her previous clients.
I contacted Heidi immediately and asked if she could fit me in her schedule. She got back to be within an hour and we quickly set up a time for me to come in.
She's done 2 big pieces on me and I couldn't be happier. The pieces she did, I allowed her to design and make it collaborate with my previous ones.
She's extremely talented and very professional.
As far as the facility she works in; it's extremely clean and very welcoming. I highly recommend Heidi and Instinked Tattoo for any tattoo work that you need.
