Amazing first-time surfing experience!

I’ve never paddled out to the ocean, let alone surfing. I knew I wanted to try surfing in Hawaii so I signed up for a group class and I came in feeling excited and nervous.

Thankfully, my instructor Eli was knowledgeable, reassuring, and encouraging. He explained everything we needed to know concisely and gave us plenty of opportunities to practice before we headed out to the ocean.

Once we’re out there, it’s so much fun! Eli helped us catch the right waves (you just have to listen to his instructions and trust yourself ?). The feeling when I could finally pop up was amazing! I also enjoyed the clear water and views of Kahaluu beach a lot.

Would recommend + would come back if I have the chance Mahalo Eli!

We rented the house behind the shop for the week. The shop had everything to enjoy the activities on the beach for the week. The guys in the shop were amazing. Christopher was always friendly and helpful. Eli and Tony were great surfing instructors! They had all of us up riding waves in no time. My daughter had such a great time that we squeezed in a private lesson with Eli before we left. We hope to return soon!

These guys are just awesome, Ben and Chris were great, helped us get boogie boards, and we got some snorkle stuff the first day we were here. Amazing prices, great vibes, and super helpful! We didn't know where to go with the boards, but they helped us out! Will 1000% be back whenever I'm back on the island.

I took a scheduled lesson and Ben was very thorough in describing the ins and outs of every question I could have possibly wondered on surfing. I have never surfed before and was nervous because of my swimming capabilities. He made me feel comfortable within the first 10 minutes. I now LOVE surfing and feel more confident in the ocean. I would HIGHLY recommend Kahului Surf and Sea for any of your surfing needs. The lesson comes with all equipment and they have the ideal spot to learn.

My partner and I booked a private lesson on 11/06, it was his first time ever surfing and we had a blast! Our instructor was Eli, he was great very patient, friendly and overall a great teacher! We learned so much!!! My partner was able to catch some good waves and stand on his first ever surfing session!!!

Eli was our teacher and it was an amazing adventure for us! He thought us how to paddle and two ways of how to stand up on the surfboard. On the ocean he helped us getting the right speed by pushing us into the waved the right moment.

We can absolutely recommend the surf course!

Now, the tricky part begins, where we have to spot the right wave and paddle by ourselves without getting any pushes ?

I booked a surf lesson, but as the ocean was totally flat, they offered me to give me my money back or I could take a stand-up paddling course + snorkling instead. I chose to take the lesson and had Steve teaching me how to paddle. He is such a nice and easygoing guy, the personification of the Aloha spirit! I had lots of fun and recommend them for sure to anyone who wants to spend some nice time in the water. Mahalo Steve & the Team! Kind regards,

Amazing experience. My brother and I did a semi private, so we were in a little bit of a bigger group (3 other people) for the demo on land + safety. But when we went out to surf we had our own instructor which was definitely worthwhile. They take you one by one, at least in the beginning, on the waves so the semi-private enhanced the usage of the time. We had Tony, and he was super kind, supportive, and helpful. The area was perfect for lesson, although a bit crowded it still worked out great! They also have a photographer who takes photos of everyone out there. (Not gaurenteed that you have one or that it’s one you like though). Overall would do it again, the environment was very welcoming and made me feel comfortable and confident. (I have never ever surfed before). Would recommend! It’s the place for surf lessons for sure!
