This is a great hidden gem in Coal City. This easy to pass location offers quite a surprise once viewing the menu….the small but mighty location offers a ton of tantalizing and hearty selections. Obviously made from fresh ingredients, the food is delivered rather quick and hot. The side of onion rings were quite the interesting surprise to me. Everything in the location is photogenic and meticulously plated until you get to the rings. The simplicity on the plate gives you no hint to the crunchy delight you are about to have. I swear, you’ll sound like you are eating a bag of potato chips but once you get through the crispy and not greasy shell, the onion remains (insert another word for moist here— haha ). The half pound multi-textured burger was super thick and loaded with the fresh mushrooms promised when ordering the cowboy burger. The chewy bacon and toasted bun added to the layers of flavors. The pork tenderloin sandwich was also a crispy hit, I’m told. I never veered from my burger to try the pork tenderloin sandwich across the table. I do have to mention that’s neighboring table ordered the Vesuvio and it looked amazing and she said it was better than it looked. Pepsi products are served and only one refill is allowed. The cute mason jars are on the larger size, so the limitations aren’t as scary as they seem.

This is the second time we have eaten here. It's a small location, but we haven't encountered a seating issue. The food was excellent both times. The cocktails were even better. We were hoping they had their special manhattan again, but we had some hard tea instead and it was excellent. I had the Bleu cheeseburger, so much food! Absolutely delicious! Service was friendly!

*Food Was Hot* *Expensive*
They charge *$1.50* for a little tiny side of sauce weird, they should've warned us 1st. Two sandwiches/with sides and chips and salsa with one pop and a tip was $70 so we probably won't be returning to this location again in the future.
They did bring the food out hot/and it was good which is why I gave a higher then one star rating.

Started with the homemade cheese sticks. They had sundried tomatoes and spinach in an egg roll wrapper and were very good. Also has the coal city burger, and it did not disappoint. Have been looking for a good burger and found it here.
Have been here several time now and everything we have tried we have enjoyed. Fish tacos were really good as well as the steak sandwich.

Over 6 months I have tried to go for lunch. "Claims" it opens at 11:00. All times I have been there between 11:15 and 11:30 NOT OPEN. The website states opening at 11:00 and the doors hours states the same. In fact, one time a door dash man was there furious as they wouldn't answer the phone and wasn't open at time posted. For heaven sakes change your time of opening to when you truly do open.!!!!! The first time I ate there it was at dinner. Very good food, but I'm rarely in town at time.Thats why I tried 3 times. Guess I won't be back.

Would give it a 3.5. Nice little place to grab a quick bite to eat. Place is small- only about 10 tables in the whole place. Food came out quick. Kids meals are $11, but are a healthy size and come with a drink and vanilla ice cream. I tried to pork chops and they were ok- little on the salty side. With that being said, I would come back again.

Hole in the wall restaurant that was amazing! We were on the way to Chicago and decided to stop. I googled best eats and we got there. Strange parking and tiny establishment that I’ll shout the praises. I got the spinach and blacken chicken salad. Amazing!!!! My fiancee got the fish tacos. Perfection! We ordered the cheese sticks to check it out. Savory and a meal on their own! I was already 2/3 done with my salad and my partner had eaten a taco when I took the pics.

My wife and I decided to have lunch here, never before have been here until today. And let me tell ya for the prices, and the amount of food you get isn't bad. I had the Coal City burger and the Mac and Cheese, the flavor and creaminess of the MNC was fantastic, the burger was also so big beautiful colors and flavors were OMG delicious. The service was fantastic as well. Definitely will be back.
