I had a really disappointing experience at the Madewell in the West Loop. I initially spent about $1200 on some great items and was planning to return to buy more because I liked the selection. However, one of the items I purchased was the wrong size, and when I tried to return it, they refused to take it back because the tag was removed—even though the item was unworn and in perfect condition.

The manager made a huge deal about the tag being off and wouldn’t accept the return, despite the amount I had just spent in the store. Just a warning—don’t expect to be able to return something here if the tag is removed, even if it’s brand new.

I was planning to spend more money on new items, but after this experience, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Really disappointing.

Great selection, fit and personalization. Had a fantastic store experience shopping for jeans and fleece. 1st time here and not the last. Staff was attentive and definitely well versed in size, fit, finish... Madewell quality feels good, let's see how they wash.

Store manager short and rude when I asked a question about canceling an online order. I was willing to repurchase the items in store but she was not helpful so I just left. I've been in a leadership position in customer service and the way the situation was handled was not appropriate.

Great experience and they actually carry MENS! I wish this location was just bigger it’s rather small compared to the ones in the suburbs so it would be great for you to have a fuller assortment for both men and women! Please make all your stores dual men’s and women’s!

Bought a pair of $140 Jeans here 2 years ago. Wore them about 10 times and they already have a hole near the zipper. Madewell customer service won't repair or replace. Pretty bad quality for the price. I'll stick to jeans that are half the cost and last 10 years (like jeans should.)

The employees are always so helpful and accommodating! My boyfriend and I both spent quite a bit of time at the store trying to find the right sizes of denim. Gus and Eric were super helpful in the dressing rooms, going the extra mile to search for the perfect size. It was my boyfriend's first time trying Madewell men's, so it was great to have the help while shopping. Crystal was also so helpful and understanding when I was trying to make a return and ended up saving me more money when exchanging items. Would definitely recommend this location!

Very friendly staff, I’ve always been greeted and offered help every time I visit. Store pickup is easy. Decently sized men section too and plenty of fitting rooms.

This was the first store I went in on a big shopping trip. The customer service was parallel to none. In specific Gus. He was, helpful, had great suggestions for my body type, knew what he was talking about, and he did his best to make me look good and be confident in my choices. I tried on 7+ pairs of pants and Gus was there to help the whole time.
