Stopped in with my boyfriend for him to take a look. We had a lot of fun. It’s a family business, open since 1959. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable, with great customer service. Pricy, but that comes along with the great quality they offer.

I stop in O'Connel's almost every time I visit Buffalo. They have a great selection of unique pieces as well as high quality private label clothes you can't get anywhere else. That said, my most recent experience was horrible. I was trying on sports shirts and decided to go with a different color. Rather than wasting time of trying on what I was assured was the same exact shirt, it turns out the fit was completely different. Now, I'm going to a wedding with a shirt that makes me look like a clown. Not the kind of thing I expect when spending $200+ on a sport shirt.

I ordered a burgundy belt from this store. When the belt arrived, it wasn’t just a shade off from the picture description, it was a totally different color than advertised. The belt I received was a very dark shade of brown, darn near black. The excuse they gave was that the brown could over power the red!!! Seriously!?!?

Not only that, the belt is advertised as if it was a product made by/for their company, but is actually a belt made by “Martin Dingman.” I could have crossed reference the color if that information was given.

They did refund me for the belt but not for the shipping. I paid for delivery and I had to pay for return shipping. That is not good customer service, especially when the fault does not lie with customer. I will never do business with this company again for this misrepresentation and not making good for it on their end.

I've been ordering clothing from O'Connell's for over 15 years through their catalog and website. I was delighted to be able to visit the store for the first time on a recent trip to Buffalo, NY. This is such a classic, menswear retailer loaded with traditional brands of shirts, jackets, sweaters, suits, outerwear and accessories. If you have a chance, stop in. If not, head to their website which has the unique feature of listing a "ton" of New Old Stock clothing including obsolete brands from the 70's and 80's.

I'm the type of person who has a lot of trouble finding something I'm comfortable in. The staff at O'Connell's Clothing had no difficulties whatsoever helping me find the only suit I've ever wanted to wear. It had my smiling from ear to ear once the alterations came back; it's perfect.

I have been a mail-order customer for several years because I live in St. Louis. Service has been excellent. The quality of the clothing has been superior. It's one place where I can find clothes in my size. (I'm 6' 5" tall.) Almost all the clothing is made in the USA with timeless styling.

Being from Buffalo originally, I can’t believe I didn’t discover O’Connell’s until I’d moved to NYC - turns out I learned that my grandfather used to shop here too! O’Connell’s is the real deal - amazing selection and service, both in person and online! Also, who knew you could buy Alden shoes/boots in Buffalo?!

I just purchased a pair of men's Alden shoes. They are a lace blucher style and they look great with my British Tan khakis. John and Ethan at the store truly know their products and know what looks good on me. I can't say enough about the quality service you receive with their knowledge and superb product lines. Looking professional still applies despite the Pandemic. Quality shoes play an important role in that process. Alden makes great footwear and they must be a part of your wardrobe.
