Pricing has made it difficult to get more than just a handful of items when I go. Pricing has gone up on everything so it’s to be expected sadly.

It’s disappointing to have them pass on gently used clothes yet I see quite a bit of worn and stained items throughout the store, from shoes to clothes and equipment. Badly pilled boys clothes, wash wear, stains etc. I wish those items were value priced to reflect their condition. They do in fact take excessively worn and/or dirty items, despite their claim that they do not.
If they were open to saying that they will selectively take worn and dirty items it would have people less upset. I also think if sellers received more clarification on why some items may not have been bought, it would radically change the perception a lot of people have about their process. I think a lot of people are being told generic phrases and are left confused and feeling like the process is unfair. Asking, “would you like to know more about why we passed on these specific items?” would leave the ball in the sellers court, and the seller would know that a more in depth discussion is an option should they choose it.

Everyone is super nice when I go. I don’t feel judged and no one really bothers me. I’ve been watched for suspected shop lifting once or twice. Annoying, but they deal with a wide variety of people with different intentions so I get it.

The good sales are often restricted to baby sizes. Their FB posts about new items has become almost non existent. Excessively worn items are for sale and some priced high. There’s room for improvement. It’s more than just 1 or 2 missed items a day, the buying process doesn’t seem to match what we’re being told.

The girls are always very nice and straight to the point. I really enjoying browsing the store. I think a few changes will make a world of a difference.

Always a great selection with new items frequently available and posted about on their social media. Their affordable pricing makes it easy to get the majority of the things we need for our toddler. I absolutely love OUAC Fairbanks and will continue to support their business!

Wonderful one-stop-shop for gently used baby stuff. This is a great place to find a variety of super cute clothes from newborn to young kids' sizes ?! They even have specialized clothing items like swaddlers for newborns and snow suits to gear up baby for winter☃️❄️. There's a small selection of maternity clothing as well.

Beyond the great clothing selection, there's quite a few toys to choose from?. They also have strollers, basinets, cribs, nursing pillows, breast milk pumps, baby chairs, walkers and more useful baby items.

In addition to all of that, they accept (and in some cases may pay some amount of money for) donations of gently used baby clothes/toys/items such as those outlined here.

Definitely recommend both this place & Fyndout Free in Fairbanks to shop for baby ?!

I feel the trade in, or selling to them is highly questionable. Perceived value very low. Buying isn’t so bad. But overall really uncomfortable, especially for it being the second or third time trying to give them a chance. Probably won’t shop often, and will never sell again. Full review on yelp.

Update: it’s not that I perceived my trading offer was too low, it was a fact that I brought a bag of brand new clothes in and only got $30 for it. The perceived value is on your side. Also, I am a local.

Update part two: 07/31/24
Bit the bullet, and decided to trade in clothes. Brought in a bag and a half of clothing. Spent about an hour or so shopping, and honestly didn’t expect much on trade in value. Just trying to save where we can. But value wasn’t the issue this time. Apparently, the clothing that had been washed, dried, and sitting in a plastic bin in the corner of my room; was damp. The clothing I just placed into bags this morning. At first I was really confused, then asked to see the clothing. While it was cool from sitting in the car, it was not damp. I check the bags for any kind or water or holes. Nothing. I asked my husband to check as well for a second opinion to make sure i wasn’t missing anything. While the young lady’s at the counter were just doing their job and informing me of policy, I was really confused. I was told by one I could take the items home and re dry them, then try to bring them back. Um what? But they have been all washed and clean for over a month. And definitely not wet or damp when I put them in bags this morning. It didn’t even rain today. I stated that the fleece and wool items would have smelt of mildew if they were damp, and while I understand, what they are saying is wrong. I asked for a second opinion, from another employee. She stated that the clothes were not really damp, but not cold, or else they would of warmed up by now. Finally a third young lady decided she o re-look at the clothing, but essentially took none of it for trade in. My husband and I were both in shock. It’s obvious the girls are just trying to do their jobs and get on with the day, but where was a manager? As the third girl, who I think “re-looked” at our clothes only did so because of how insistent we were that they were not damp, we continue to look around. My husband, being a smart cookie, started looking at all the onesies they have in the back wall, and the black bins on back table by maturity wear. All the clothing felt exactly the same as our did in the bags. Cool, but not damp. I got another option from a fellow customer, who agreed. The store is cold. I ended up not saying anything to the ladies upfront. Honestly, I didn’t want to argue, and I felt they had already made up their minds on us. I didn’t need 100$ or anything out of the trade in, just new clothes to fit my kid. We paid for our stuff and left. At this point I should of known better, but I was really hoping that it was just misunderstandings in the past or lack of communication. My husband never will go back now. And after today I can’t justify it even with discounted prices. Whoever the owner is, needs to be there. Again I don’t blame the girls. They seem to have felt just as awkward, and didn’t know how to respond. I learned a lot later on today from others in the community, so I know I’m at risk for posting a negative review, let alone update. But yeah, i won’t be walking in there ever again. Which is a real shame considering this economy.
