We had our first experience here yesterday, and frankly, it was great. We were asked if we had ever been here before, we said we had not, and we were given an extremely polite, friendly, informative tour of the business. Everything was thoroughly explained to us in a pleasant manner, and we felt really at home right away. The gear we purchased was all clean, serviceable, and very reasonably priced. Every member of the staff we came in contact with was helpful and fun. We found exactly what we were looking for and saved a couple hundred bucks vs new!

Terrific, friendly, knowledgeable staff helped me with two major purchases of a tent and a pack for a 9-day backpacking trip. Team members spent 2+ hours helping me get the right gear and made sure it fit correctly. I paid $90 for a 3 pound 4oz tent in great condition (retails for $150), and $140 for a backpacking pack (retails for $300). There's a warehouse of selection available: shoes, clothes, bikes, canoes and kayaks, day packs, sleeping equipment, climbing gear, and everything for winter snow sports. This is an incredible resource for anyone who loves the outdoors. I'm going here first before I hit REI from now on.

Went to check this place out. The place is hard to find because of a lack of signage. The staff was helpful in giving a tour. Lots of gear. Pretty high prices for used stuff. 60/40 split for sellers. Great selection of goods.

Every one star review of this place is 100% correct. Most chaotic experience, it's a shame I couldn't get through the entire ground rules talk to see the stuff for sale, but life is too short for crazy like this.

The prices have kept pace with inflation regardless of whether the items are long out of production pieces with legs or perishable offloads. If you're knowledgeable about gear it's worth a visit. There's always the possibility of coming across a bomber piece of 20 year old gear. Asking prices otherwise are so high that the cost is probably better applied to new, unused gear.

They have a very wide selection of gear and sizes, from very low cost to high-end. There is no junk, not a "thrift store". Staff is very helpful and supper knowledgeable about the gear they have and what is needed for various outdoor excursions!

Wow, this is my new go to place for outdoor equipment. Buying used and well cared for goods is much better than new. Best of all, since this is a consignment shop, you're helping someone else out at the same time you're getting a deal. The Manager, John helped me out by showing me how to set up my purchase and giving helpful tips for later use. If you have a need for new outdoor equipment or have too much gear and want to make something back on it. This is the place to go!

Outdoor ReGear is quite possibly one of my favorite stores in existence. If it is your first time into the store, you will be given a quick tour. The staff is awesome, and the selection of used (and some new!) gear is amazing and it changes as they are always adding new items. I purchased my mountain bike there, as well as clothing and other gear items. We drive up from Carlsbad and make sure this is a stop every time! We also consign our gear there. I will say sometimes it does take long to get any returns on consigned items- really depends on if you drop off on-season or off- season items and their current inventory. They do store off-season items behind ropes and if you are looking for something specific, they will pull items out for you to look through. Expect to spend quite a bit of time here!
