SO been coming here for years to exchange voucher for boots. Love this is a family owned local business and not a huge chain. He's always experienced excellent customer service. He was in out with new boots in less than 5 minutes!

Always try to go to Poe’s before shopping online just to support a mom & pop place, but that ends tonight, 5:30 PM 1/10/25.

Came by to buy a coat and pair of winter work boots I saw last time I was there. Talking probably a $600 spend.

It’s late in the evening, nobody is in the parking lot of the ENTIRE complex except for Poe’s one worker’s car. It’s snowing like crazy. There’s 4 inches of snow in the parking lot. It clearly hasn’t been plowed all day. I park in front and walk in.

Worker meets me at the door:

“Is that your jeep?”

I nod.

“You can’t park there.”

I laugh thinking he’s joking.

Again, it’s snowing like crazy and there are 0.0 people driving through or parked in the parking lot. Since they haven’t plowed there’s no way to tell what’s a parking spot and what’s not anyway.

“No, you can’t park there.” I laugh again thinking he’s joking. There’s nobody else out there and definitely nobody coming in. He’s super serious.

I say “You know what, I’m good.” And walked, with my wallet, out of Poe’s for the last time.

Just ordered what I needed online for probably 30% less.

If you’re going to try to be hardline about parking in a snow storm at least pay somebody $40 to plow.

I came in to get some work boots. The guy there, Erick, didn't seem to want to help me, as I began to conversate with him I understood why.
The klu klux klan was brought up and this guy tells me how "the klan are not bad people, they just want to preserve their race." I couldn't help but think of all the innocent lives taken over the years.

While considering a pair of boots, another customer walked in (a white male), I was never attended to again. I gave him my boot voucher from work, took the boots I tried on and just left. It's sad to see that there are young men out there that see me, (a colored person) as an outsider invading their race. Horrible to see that mindset is still around. I wouldn'trecommend this place.

All I wanted to do is exchange a pair of boots for a larger size , and nope , 15 day return policy these boots are perfect not worn out of the house . I know that is not how this business got to were it is today by treating customers like this

Had a warranty issue on a pair of thorogood boots. First the lady tries to tell me that it’s been over 6 months. I showed her the email correspondence with Thorogood and they said they’re warranted up to a year. She then tells me that she can’t do anything about, that the owner has to do it. Wanted to keep my work boots in order to show the owner. Since they’re my only pair of work boots, I needed them for work since this was my only day off. So she took pics of where the sole was delaminating from the boot and said she’d show the owner. I’m sorry but that is unacceptable, gas is over $4 per gallon and I’m expected to waste more of my time because the owner needs to see the issue? Anyone in the boot business can look at it and see that it’s a manufacturing defect. Poor business practices, this will be the last purchase I make from them. UPDATE: I notified Thorogood, they had me send them the boots. Said yes, it is a manufacturing defect and issued a new pair of boots. Unfortunately I still had to buy a new pair of boots in order to send those ones in. All this could’ve been avoided if Poe & Sons would’ve just taken care of it. If you’re qualified to sell the boots, you should be qualified to warranty them.

This place is a jokeeee, do not waste your money! Take your business elsewhere, you’ll be doing yourself a favor.
My husband bought a pair of Thorogood’s paid 250$. He bought them on Saturday, and brought them back Monday because something is wrong with the soles. The owner was not present at the store, and therefore nobody “could do anything”. The owner must be present to decide if the boots are “eligible” for return or exchange. A $250 pair of boots. Not eligible for exchange because my husband wore them for ONE DAY. We live over an hour away. They wanted us to come back the next day before 11am so the owner, Larry could decide. And may still decide he can’t take them back or even exchange. An absolute joke. Take your money somewhere else.

The owner opened early he saw me outside. I'm from out of town and left my boots at home. I needed a pair to enter my customers business. I found a pair I liked and told him the size. They fit perfect.
I like them more than the the boots I left at home.
Even though I'm from out of town I would buy from them again. Quite a selection of nice boots, work clothing and gear.
