Eager…eager to serve. This is a collection of professionals that know their stuff. If they don’t have the answer, they have a network of technical partners that do. Several people were there, like myself, needing some repair/service work. Just like every other time have gone in there, they jump on what ever the need is. They insist they can do it while you wait, and they do. Proud to recommend them to anyone who wants to see how businesses were run 60 years ago.

Before I moved here, we had a sport store up in Illinois in a small town called Milan. It was called E Z Livin. Best small hometown place you could ask for. Everyone was was family when you entered. It sold when I moved here in 2017. Never thought there'd be another as times are different,,,, until now. I have drove by Southtown Sporting Goods a few times over the years. I never went in because I had never had luck with any other place being any good. Some kid messed up my bow string, so I called Southtown and they said come on with it. I walk in and from get go, the feeling of that small town store was back. This place was busy, but they acknowledged everyone who came through the door. Got me fixed right up and kept on going haha. They were all in great spirits, and I even liked the funny sarcastic bearded guy. I'm sure as I continue to go back over and over, we all will be on 1st name or nickname basis. Great place. I'm glad I found my Sporting goods home haha

Normally have a good experience here but recently we purchased 2 dozen of their big minnows to use catfishing. When we got to the lake not even an hour later 6 of the biggest ones were dead already. By the end of the night we ran out of bait early and discovered they only gave us 18 instead of the 24 we paid for. Any bait store I've ever bought from normally errs on the side of caution giving you more than you purchase as it's hard to verify count as they're all swimming around in the bait cooler. First time I've ever been shorted on bait.

A "true sportsman's" supply shop. Also have live bait and they can provide the current trends on the local waters to help improve your chances. Some things can be a little expensive but I am totally fine with it because it is locally owed and operated. With a great selection and a "Good Old Boy" atmosphere, you cant go wrong shopping here.
