Makawao is my favorite place to shop on Maui, and The Mercantile is my favorite place to shop in Makawao. Recently I went in, hoping to find a few extra vacation pieces because I’d packed terribly for this trip. Well, I came away with a few fabulous pieces to wear on vacation—and a few bonus pieces for my everyday life. The amazing Stephanie understood my style and preferences almost instantly (like magic!) and pulled PERFECT items that I might not have tried on otherwise. It was such a fun and energizing shopping experience—and I rarely feel that way about shopping. Thank you for making my day and elevating my wardrobe, Stephanie and The Mercantile!

The Mercantile is the best Boutique ever. I Love this place and I Love ❤️ the clothes and brands that they carry. Whatever I buy from there is so wearable and I always get lots of use from everything I buy. It is the stuff that is front and center in my closet and I get so many compliments. This is absolutely the best boutique ever and Malia is so nice to me. Most of all Malia is a great Stylist as is Stephanie, the Owner too. Malia is in there mostly everyday and she will always tell me the truth if the Outfit works or not. I really value her opinion. I always look forward to the next Instagram Picture with the newest stuff. Stephanie, The Owner really knows her stuff and I have learned a lot about brands and fashion from her. Whether you live in Maui or you are visiting, this store has something for everyone and it has a prime location in the middle of Historic Makawao Town.

The Mercantile always has the best collections of clothes for men & women. The men’s selections are limited but always great classic styles & top lines & fabrics as she buys for her female customers. Stephanie, the shopkeeper, has a sharp eye for trends & there is always something irresistible in her store that keeps me checking back regularly.

I got a very classy jacket at the Mercantile that I am absolutely in love with. Their inventory is high-quality, unique and classy but also stuff you will actually wear! The costumer service is great. I had to return the first jacket I bought after wearing it and realizing it was too small, and they were super accommodating.

Makawao is the best place to shop on Maui, and The Mercantile is one of the top shops. They have edgy jeans and leather jackets — and classic shirts and sweats. I always have a hard time deciding— it’s a good thing that Malia works there to help me with the right choice. She’s the bomb!

Charming store on Baldwin in makawao with the loveliest owner. We were lucky to have met her on the beach in the am. She has a beautiful selection of casual and cool brands. I picked up a couple of Frank & Eileen pieces. I’ll definitely be back!
