I discovered Theory while on an assignment in New England about twenty years ago. At first I purchased a blouse and a pair of slacks for work and the rest is history.

I fell in love with the comfort, the minimalist style, the simplicity of its elegant construction, and best of all Made in America. I still today wear all of the pieces I bought then looking fresh in every way.

Two stars would be none if it weren't for how much I love the brand's style and quality. Unfortunately, this store (for me) was wrecked by the staff. There were maybe 6 customers in the store and several sales people. So, it was far from busy. Not once did anyone come to ask if I could be shown anything, if they could find a size for me . . . nothing. In fact, the whole thing started off wrong when one of the young men gave me kind of a sideways sneer as I walked by.

Perhaps if I'd been wearing one of the many Theory pieces I own vs jeans and a peacoat, I would have received some attention. Folks, next time some old guy with white hair walks in - think twice. Though it won't be me, because I'll never set foot in your store again.

Exceptional service!!! In town visiting and stopped in because I'm a huge Theory fan. Was taken care of by Juan Carlos who made my experience feeling as if I was in Paris shopping on Avenue Montaigne. He recommended so many Incredibles items some I didn't even think of myself. His attention to detail and the fact that he spent time getting to know me made my time at the boutique. Very special cuz it's very rare to find service these days where they take an interest in you and getting to know you. I come from a retail background myself and typically it's all about how many people you can help so you can get that commission but he chose to spend a lot of time with me and I will definitely be back when I'm in town!!

I've probably spent no less than $10k at this place in the past few years and I am having one of the worst customer service experiences EVER. I have a pulled thread, leaving a noticeable creese, in a long sleeve shirt that was purchased in November of 2023, which I have worn three times. I followed the product instructions for washing the shirt the one time it was washed. I can't even get a supervisor on the phone, from the team who determined the item was not "defective". I have not made any such complaints on any of the other number of products I've purchased from Theory, so I reasonably expected my loyalty to be reciprocated in a rare circumstance like this.

I was offered 25% off as a "sorry there's nothing we can do per company policy". Ordinarily, I would just take this in stride and deal with the outcome, but I have spent a disgusting amount of money at this place and deserve better.

PS - I hate writing reviews and absolutely love Theory clothing. I apologize to all who are disturbed by my rant.

Great location, nice decent spacious environment. Theory is unique in it's own way with an awesome product line. Super helpful staff willing to go above and beyond. Close to Restoration Hardware flagship store, a Starbucks Reserve and Chelsea Market.
