Avoid. We rented gear. In four sets of regs there was a dead computer and three leaky second stages, two octos and one primary. Not such terrible leaks as to make them unusable, but enough to reduce bottom time and be annoying. Not only that, they spent 10 minutes carefully checking that we returned all the weights -- and got the totals wrong! Lucky for me, the error was in my favor but I know they'd have tried to charge me if it went the other way. I didn't keep track of the exact weight numbers and sizes because I've never seen a dive shop that bothered accounting for weights. And when I complained about the poorly maintained gear and asked for a discount, they refused, saying that if there was a problem I should have returned the gear immediately. Never mind that it would have taken us an hour and added another swim through crashing surf to swap the gear, and never mind that they would have been closed when we got back to the shop anyway. Completely unreasonable shop staff, and badly-maintained (life support!) equipment. Find a shop in the city instead.

They were super weird, made us sign that our equipment was good before even testing it. The secondary regulators all were ridiculously touchy and wasted air . They tried to charge us extra for weight when they got the numbers wrong. The weight belts didn't click in properly despite making the clicking noise and some had to be searched for. One of the dive computers was completely dead. Only one of the employees knew anything about diving, the rest were renting gear with no knowledge.

Mike with underwater Oahu was great to dive with. My two daughters, aged 11 and 10 did their open water dives with him to complete their open water certification. He was so good with them and clearly understands how to work with kids. He was safe and an excellent teacher. He taught me a few things too. The equipment is clean and very functional. we had no issues. He is very prepared. He’s got a good sense of humor and showed us some fun things at Electric Beach. I will definitely dive with Underwater Oahu again next time we’re there

I recently had an amazing experience with this dive shop in Oahu! The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The equipment was well-maintained And everything worked perfectly. And above all the prices were very well.

Had a great time with underwater Oahu!
Good gear, fun and competent crew!
I felt very safe and they took us to two great dive locations.
I highly recommend! Next time I am in Oahu I will dive with this outfit.
Also there are great beached near the marina, where they are based that are quiet and not crowded. Good break from the crowds of Waikiki and the North shore.
Also check out the “beach house 604” for a good bite to eat and a cold one after the dive

Not a very good experience at all. We were told to sign off our gear was in good condition BEFORE we even got to look at it.
This resulted in us having faulty gear. Almost every secondary oxygen regulator leaked, leaving us with rapidly depleting air and a short dive; and one of the dive computers were completely dead. By the time we got to the shore to dive, we realized all the issues, but the store closed at 2pm making it impossible to get back and change out the gear in time. We were left with faulty gear and no compensation. I do not recommend this shop. The pricing is also off compared to other dive shops, the weights are not included in the full package

Possibly the worst experience I've ever had at a dive shop. Defective gear, deceptive pricing practices, and extremely slow service. Go elsewhere.

The shopkeepers made us sign a form stating that we had inspected and found our gear to be fit and in good working order. Once we got to the beach we had a dead dive computer and leaky secondaries. When we complained about this to the shopkeeper they refused to compensate us and blamed us for the issue. Apparently we were supposed to return to the dive shop as soon as an issue was noticed, however the store was closed making returning the gear the same day impossible.

To add to this, they miscounted our weights and blamed it on us, told us the entire set would be $45 and then informed us at checkout that the full kit does NOT include weights, which were an additional $8 per person.

I would strongly recommend taking your custom to another dive shop, don't waste your vacation on a store trying to take advantage of tourists.

Amazing. If you want an authentic, fun, and safe experience open water diving, Underwater Oahu is the way to go.

We came out for an introductory dive. We did two different dives with Mike. The first was a wreckage, the second was a reef. Mike was professional and gave a brief over view of the equipment. He stayed by our sides the entire time and let us dive at our own pace. The dive was so much fun that we came back for our open ocean certification.

We signed up and were assigned Bart as our Instructor! We spent the first lesson in his pool where he went over several different exercises. Then we did 2 walk in dives at Electric beach. The last day of the course we did two dives in open ocean. Bart was professional, knowledgable, and encouraging. He repeated exercises until my husband and I were comfortable with performing them. He took us through a cavern tunnel, and showed us octopuses, turtles, and various other marine life. I left his class feeling confident in my abilities as a diver and excited to continue my diving adventures!

We saw something cool and new on all 6 dives, and we heard Whales while at electric beach then saw them the next day.

Underwater Oahu is military friendly. All of their employees are professional and SME in Diving. It's an authentic diving experience.
