Friday, I tried calling all local area luggage stores at 5AM this morning for an RFID money pouch for a trip to Europe on Sunday. Uyeda in University Plaza was the only store on Oahu that said they carried what I needed and had it in stock. Uyeda is a local family run shoe store that has been in business for 50+ years. The store was hopping with a number of clientele that had been shopping there since childhood. The owner of the shop was speaking with a woman who remembered the father of the current owner. Uyeda's was the only local shoe store when she was a child. The owner recalled being five years old and wanting to take over her father's shoe business. I spoke with Arlene about my need before zipping over there to check out their selection of travel bags. The personnel of Uyeda are knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. I ended up choosing a couple of items to have backups for carrying money around Europe. I am thankful for their knowledge of what travelers need when abroad to help protect their valuables. I will travel with less worry due to their help.

Visited Uyeda shoe store today about 1:30pm and was greeted by a very pleasant store rep Kailey. She made me feel very comfortable. She was also very knowledgeable as to what type of shoe would be better for my situation. It was like she knew me for years. Kailey thank you so much for your pleasant and professional service. I will definitely spread the word about this shoe store and to be sure to ask for Kailey.

This store is amazing! I have bad knees and they provide advice on best options. For me, the secret is "zero drop" meaning the heel and toe are at the same level, but still with a lot of cushioning and arch support. Right now am buying rainproof soft hiking boots with zero drop and Kailey has spent 30 min adjusting the arches so they are perfect - like tailor-made. The store has been in business for 108 years for a very good reason!

This long time locally owned shoe store is dedicated to comfort shoes for both men and women. You can find dress shoes, running shoes, casual shoes, sandals, work, shoes. Marvelous! The staff is helpful and knowledgeable and friendly. If you're looking for a shoe that you can wear for standing or walking along time, I'd highly suggest trying Uyeda Shoe Store. I only wish there were a greater selection of women's dress shoes. I understand, however, that the cost of keeping such inventory and especially having to ship to Hawaii is cost prohibitive. But, good job, Uyeda Family! Thank you for your many years of serving Hawaii!

Fantastic! Small store with a lot of soul! Warm, inviting, and a vast array of shoes, slippers, socks , inserts, and more, such as items for travelers . If you need quality shoes that improve posture and with alignment , sore legs, and back, this is your place for sure! All associates are professional, knowledgeable, and personable ! Uyeda shoe store has been there for forty plus years. This is a gem that I rediscovered, and I am a customer for life!

I needed a pair of shoes to support my feet and ankle since I fractured it. I was pleasantly surprised how friendly the staff is. They are a local business and I love supporting local businesses.

The other great thing is they really know shoes. Once they knew what my needs were they measured my feet to get me in the shoe that would help my injury. I had forgotten that my right foot is longer than my left. This is very helpful for me. Thank you!

Love this local owned shoe store! Outstanding customer service! Priceless! I purchased a pair of Keen' and the gal customized the shoe to fit my feet! It was so nice to be able to try on different shoes to see which one fit comfortably and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.
