Wish they would put a sixth star ⭐️ on this app! our “enhanced customer experience” was priceless. !!! “A forever memory”. As a result of turning off the highway for some gas, on a long drive from Nova Scotia 🇨🇦 to meet our soon to be born grandson named Shilo (like in the Bible). saw a propane tank painted like a watermelon 🍉 and stand and ended up buying a whack, meeting the Skipper Greg Vetere and hearing about his Late Dad Jay. He liked to “share watermelons - because it put smiles on peoples faces”. The same principal as our father Mac who rests in Nova Scotia & sharing 🦞 lobster. The assortment of watermelons were “out of this world” and by far the best anyone’s ever tasted as we enjoyed them for a few days in Las Vegas over the arrival of the baby July 31, 2022.

I'm a trucker and so thrilled to stop at the nearby Pilot and walk over to pick up some fresh fruit!
Much better and sweeter than anything you'll find at the grocery store. (And best honeydew I've ever had!) The people there were very friendly and helpful in assisting me with picking out melons of various ripeness so I was set to eat them for the whole week.

Have you tasted Juicy, Sweet and Summery Canary Israeli, Black Diamond Red Seedless, and Crenshaw melons in addition to Green River proud watermelon? Don’t forget the local honey, Acorn, Spaghetti and Butternnut Squash. Open even on Sundays.

While on a recent road trip in the area in Sept 2023, we ran across this melon stand, just at the right time when the melon harvest was at its peak. Good stuff. We had no idea that Green River UT was such a melon-growing hot spot!

Bought some watermelon a few months ago, they were the sweetest I ever had. Came back, 200+ miles to buy more and the were out of the one green with white stripes. He sold me dark green smaller ones saying these were sweeter than summers crop. BS they were bland tasting I would have never bought 7 watermelon if I knew he wasn't honest about this crop. Was going to give them as gifts but how can you gift someone an average watermelon when you were thinking about gifting the best wayermelons in the world! Wish I would of looked to see what the other vendors had to offer. I feel violated!

For years it has been getting ever harder to get a really good melon. This year I took matters into me own hands, drove to Green River and spent the night. What a good idea that turned out to be. Melon Days has left a smile on my face that may last til next year when I can go again. My daughter and I met the mayor and shopped all the growers. The Vetere people were all so friendly, engaging and helpful. The hundred pounds of melons we bought won’t last nearly long enough. Wow. I’m glad a real watermelon lover can still get the real thing. Thanks.

We've been getting a variety of Vetere melons for over 28 years. Watermelons, Israeli melons, Canary, Crenshaw, Cantaloupes both orange and green fleshed, Honeydews and a few in-between. The founder, Jay, passed in 2017, but the family, each wonderful folk we've come across have been gracious, knowledgeable and quite friendly. The people, the soil, the experience. Pretty much the best melons I've ever had. Especially the Israeli melons. Best trails and continued success!

Friendliest cashier helper!!!! We will always stop for melons at this stop. We will always bypass the shack selling melons on the east side of town because the helper there was so rude. Beautiful fruit at Veteere’s!!!
