I really wanted to be able to give 5 stars. I had a complete ankle fusion that required special shoes and I went to Kenny’s to order them. I had grown up around the Lafayette area and knew they had been in business for a long time. I called and they seemed very knowledgeable and helpful so I went in to get my first post surgery pair of shoes. Everyone was very friendly and they measured my feet and we settled on a pair. They placed the order and would let me know when they came in. Four to five weeks later I still hadn’t been called so I called them and was initially told that they hadn’t come in yet. A few minutes after that call someone called me back and said the shoes had accidentally been stocked with the shoes they keep stocked for the floor. I was a bit frustrated but hey, mistakes happen. So I went in get them and the lady that was helping us kindly replaced the regular shoe laces with a toggle for convenience but one of them broke in the store and she fixed it. Upon getting home I went to put the shoes on for the first time and both toggles immediately broke so I had to relace them. I still was only mildly annoyed. But then the right shoe started slipping off and coming untied all the time no matter how thick my socks were. My right foot is my normal foot and it should have been ordered as an 11 and not a 12. My left foot needs to be a 12 now but if you need two different sizes the shoes double in price. I believe they ordered two 12’s in an effort to save me money but unfortunately I took a bad fall tonight when the right shoe came untied again and it tripped me up. This was incredibly painful and frustrating as I went through three surgeries to be here. The shoes were expensive at $150- and I guess I just feel very disheartened at how things went. I don’t really know where to go from here as I certainly can’t afford another pair of shoes especially since they would be $300- and not just $150- but I will stay positive and try to make what I have work. I had really hoped for a better overall experience than this. I think they have excelled at their trade in this area for so long that they are resting on their laurels and have become a bit lackadaisical.

I should have done more research on the situation and become more knowledgeable of what I would need to ask and look for to ensure this went smoother and was safer. I didn’t and instead trusted and was led by their decisions and judgement and I take responsibility for my part. Definitely wish this had gone better but turns out with a little education and research that there are numerous online resources and companies to work with.

I dropped a pair of boots off to be retreaded. They had to hold them for a bit to ask the shoe repair guy if they could be repaired. A half hour after I left, the called and said they could do the repairs and asked if they should proceed, to which I said yes. I called a week ago to see if they were ready since I was going to be in Lafayette that day. They said that they had just glued the tread on and it would take a few days for the glue to cure and then they could shape it they would most likely be done Monday or Tuesday. Friday (more than two weeks from when I dropped them off) I get a call from them saying that they need me to come in and pay. I assume that m and they are done. I get there to pay and the lady brings out my boots with no tread on them (that I had been told had already been glued on and was waiting to be shaped down and would be done 3 days ago) and said that they don't do work until after they get paid. I'd have taken my boots back right then and found someone else to do it if they still had any tread on them, but no, they'd already sanded that off and still have my boots for another week probably.

Kenny’s is absolutely wonderful! I’ve had three boots fixed here and they’ve done amazing work. It’s always been done in a timely manner and everyone is so nice in the store. I cannot recommend them enough.

I brought in two pairs of shoes to Kenny's, one pair being a pair of boots and another being a pair of wedges. I wanted them to work on both pairs of shoes but instead they just sold me the products to take care of them myself. Long story short I ended up ruining my nice pair of wedges and was super sad about it, so I will never work with them again..... ? and then when I thought deeper, I had them fix a button on my wedges last year, and they just replaced that one button that fell off instead of replacing all of them to be the same so the lack of respect is just to an all-time high. Which mind you I found these pair of wedges brand new at a thrift store, so I can't get these back and they meant a lot to me along with being super comfortable.

I got a pair of riding boots re-heeled and got the waist of a mens dress pants let out about an inch. They are a little local shop and got the job done but I simply can’t recommend them for the price and quality.

One of the boot heels was glued on extremely messily (it was not like that originally, and they could have taken the time to sand down the rough edges) and they left stray threads everywhere on the place they let out the waist on the pants. The shoes cost almost 30 dollars to reheel and the pant waist was 15 dollars. Oh and boots with longer shafts cost more to reheel than boots with shorter shafts for some reason. It is not worth it to revisit Kennys.

Rick, Genny, and Micky all took amazing care of me! They got me into the right boot for what I need in my trade. I got a pair of Thorogoods and they are like tennis shoes but in a work boots.
I can’t thank them enough from start to finish was a smooth purchase and have amazing customer service. I will go no where else from now on for my boots.

Ordered boots that fit on a Saturday, guy told me they'd be in Monday. 2 weeks later I got a call that they were in, and even though they'd measured my feet, the boots were huge. I paid for them the day of, and after complaining they found me some in stock boots that fit. Which I could have had when I paid for the boots they "ordered". Never going back, cuz nice people don't equal good service.

Got the soles repaired on a pair of shoes that I've only worn twice to funerals before the sole one of the shoes came completely off. Took them back to get an explanation and was told I'd have to pay additional fees to get the sole reattached. Some mumbo-jumbo about some pictures they took of the shoes being torn in some other places when i took them there initially. The bottom line is I paid to get the whole soles repaired. Not to mention I had to ask the repair guy to clean up the glue or whatever it was around the soles and on my shoes twice before I would accept his work. Trying to keep my cool, but I'm pissed.
