I had a great experience with Hakky shoe repair and want to clarify some of the negative reviews that I’ve seen that appear to be based on a misunderstanding of services and expectations.

I took a pair of Allen Edmonds derby shoes to be resoled and reheeled. The cost for this service was $89. The original cost of the shoes was around $400. To have the shoes repaired instead of replaced is a financially responsible decision- I’ve already gotten 10 years of use out of the shoes, wearing them regularly in rotation. This repair may add another 5 years, and I’ll have to decide at that time whether to have them repaired again or replaced. The work was well done, although some portions of the replacement were more visible than others until I polished the shoes. This is both fair and expected- I could have paid $200+ for a higher quality repair, but this was not needed. Hakky did an excellent job at this price point. I have cheaper shoes that I would replace instead of having repaired. Just because the shoes are cheaper does not mean it would take less work or materials- so it would not be worth it to repair a pair of shoes that costs the same or less than the repair. And some people are upset that Hakky doesn’t charge less to repair cheap shoes. Why would they charge less to do the same work? TL;DR- I’ll be back.

Normally, I don’t leave negative reviews.. what started off great upon being greeted in the store ended up with a negative experience. I will never be returning here. The people who works here are nice don’t get me wrong but it’s unprofessional for you to state you can do a repair job on my leather handbag piece stating you’ll need a couple days to work on because you need to stitch another leather piece together on my bag handle since it snapped due to the leather strap now being worn out and weak. I received my bag today after calling them myself which upon paying upfront I was told I would be later contacted. I get my handbag today June 15 around evening… I didn’t closely look at it up close because I had confidence in this place that the service was stellar… I was so wrong. I got home and upon closer examination they glued my bag!!! It’s super sticky on one of my leather pieces and I paid additionally for my handbag to get leather conditioned which only the outside got it and the inside and the outside of the front pocket was missed. I’m not happy at all. The people here seem very sweet but this is not the service I paid for. Please if you can’t do something call the customer first before proceeding! And don’t tell me what you’re going to do and you don’t do it, you glued my leather bag! You glued the torn pieces of my strap together with heavy glue that feels like it’s gorilla glue. Not happy

Low quality repairs, bring them your minor issues. Don't bring them anything worth money I wouldn't trust it.
Resoled a pair of Frye oxfords and all they did was glue on an ugly clunky sole, the heels aren't even, it's bad work. I could have done this repair better.
I am so upset we don't have a good show repair place in town.

The Craftsmanship isn’t very good. My loafers soles were just glued on. The sole probably isn't real leather. I paid $100 only for them to start falling apart within a couple months of wearing. Not coming here again.

Had a complicated fix on a leather jacket. They spent time finding the right patch to use. And the fix its self is seamless. You can’t even tell there is a patch there!
Great service and reasonably priced.

My issued military backpack was ripping at the seam. I brought it to multiple tailor shops who couldn’t repair and was referred to Hakky. Work was completed within a day and workmanship was very impressive. Definitely would return if service is needed again.

Brought some expensive Alden boots to be re-heeled ($570). He didn't have the right replacement heel. That should have been my indication to look around. I brought the material for heels to be replaced. Charge was $40.. pretty standard. A week later I go to get my boots and they did a poor polish job on them, huge nails into the heel. (Top lift) and the nails were sticking out. A bit.. and he glued the boot at the heel rand (between the upper and the heel with some kind of hard clear glue). I can feel and hear the nails against the concrete at every step. He didn't counter sink them. After some time my boots are now making a weird clicking sound I angle my everte or invert my foot. I'll have to spend more money on this now...

If you want an easy and quick fix, come here. But if you want a job done right, and have more expensive shoes I would avoid. Sorry Hakky
